We doubt anyone will be shocked by this, which probably makes it even sadder.
Pete Doherty was officially charged with possession of cocaine yesterday, which related from his March arrest where he was suspected of supplying the drug to heiress Robin Whitehead, who died of a drug overdose in January.
Although initially the charge was supplying drugs, but it’s since been knocked down to just possession.
A source reveals:
“Pete’s adamant he played no part in Robin’s death. He is still very distressed.”
He and friend Peter Wolf – who was also involved and has been charged with two counts of possession and one of supplying a Class A drug – are due in court on October 18th, and are both facing jail time if convicted.
