Turns out Michael Phelps was drinking before last Thursday's car accident in Maryland!

Phelps downed a beer an hour and 15 minutes before the accident occurred, he admitted to police!

Baltimore police have ruled out the booze as the cause for the accident because Fishy showed "no signs of alcohol impairment."

Although the other driver, Amanda E. Virkus, was at fault for the collision (she ran a red light), do U think the beer may have had an impact on Phelps' reaction time????

INTERESTINGLY enough, police did not administer Phelps any sobriety tests.

Even though Baltimore police aren't placing the blame on Michael Phelps for Thursday night's car accident in Baltimore, Phelps has been issued a citation!

The Olympic swimmer was driving with an invalid license!!!!

Dumb!

Although the citation doesn't carry a fine, Fishy Phelps will still have to show up in court and explain to the judge why he doesn't have a valid Maryland license.

Better think of a good excuse, Fishy!

As we previously mentioned, Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps was involved in a car accident in Baltimore on Thursday night.

Luckily, no one involved was seriously injured. Eyewitnesses had originally blamed Phelps, saying he was speeding and ran a red light. But Phelps just caught a lucky break.

Turns out the cops are putting the blame on the other driver involved in the crash, stating that the woman driving a Honda Accord was the one who sped through a red light and crashed into Phelps.

As for Phelps, who pleaded guilty to driving drunk back in 2004, he was not given a Breathalyzer test this time.

The department's chief spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi, revealed, "There was no need. He was completely coherent. He was cooperating with police. We have a witness statement as to what occurred. We knew it was going to make national news and everyone was going to watching this and every news agency was going to be hiring their best accident investigators and we wanted our best on it."

As for the female driver, she was described as shaken up, but after being treated at a nearby hospital she was released and is said to have suffered neck and arm injuries.

We give it a matter of time before she speaks out publicly about the whole ordeal. Wonder if she'll deny the reports and blame Phelps?

As PerezHilton.com was the first to exclusively report, the Olympic swimmer was involved in a pretty serious wreck in Baltimore on Thursday night.

The car above is Michael's Escalade.

Sources tell us that Phelps was speeding AND ran a red light, resulting in the two-car collision.

Thankfully, though, no one was seriously injured.

Unfortunately for Phelps, this crash is likely gonna cost him big $$$$$$$$$$!!!!

The good news is that it doesn't appear that there were any serious injuries involved.

The bad news? He got himself into trouble again!

Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Michael Phelps got into a car accident in Baltimore on Thursday evening - and it appears to be the swimmers fault.

Sources tell us that his Escalade was smashed up and he was seen talking to police - barefoot! - on the corner of Biddle St. & Calvert St.

It appears that fishy Phelps hit the car in front of him as he was driving.

And, after the accident, "gawkers started snapping pics of Michael and the car crash and he started freaking out on them, ordering them to delete the photos!"

Calm down, stoner! And LOOK while you're driving!!!

Update: Worse for Phelps!!!!

It appears he ran a red light, thus resulting in the collision!

AND, according to eyewitnesses, he was speeding at over 50 mph!

Shaq is the latest celeb to land his very own reality show!

Shaq Vs., slated to air on ABC beginning August 18th, will pit the basketball champ against some of the greatest athletes in the biz at their own game!

Shaq will be competing against Fishy Phelps in swimming, Oscar De La Hoya in boxing and Serena Williams at tennis, just to name a few.

The sports legend says he recruited quite a few athletes for the program through his infamous Twitter!

O'Neal even wants to compete against Lance Armstrong in cycling after Lance completes the Tour de France!

Shaq says that he'll be using the show as a creative means of training for his upcoming NBA season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and believes audiences will tune in because they'd be interested in seeing "an athlete play another sport."

Oh, Fishy Phelps.

You've lost your edge!

While competing in the Charlotte UltraSwim competition in North Carolina on Saturday, the Olympic gold medalist lost the 100-meter backstroke to swimmer Aaron Peirsol!

Peirsol finished the backstroke in 53.32 seconds while Phelps took a dismal 53.79 seconds to complete the 100-meter stroke.

It was the first time Phelps has lost in a year.

Bong hits can really damage a person's lung capacity!
