Oh, we WISH it was Barack and Michelle Obama!

But it's another fabulous political couple!

Apparently, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni are planning to have a baby!

Their millionaire friend Jacques Seguela, who introduced them on a blind date in February 2008, says of their family plans:

"Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni very much want to have a child. Carla has already said so several times, otherwise I would not be allowed to say this. Everyone knows about it now. They are a young couple, and like all young couples, they want to start a family."

Sarkozy is 54 and Carla is 41 so we're not sure we'd call them a "young couple," but they're definitely young enough to have a child these days!

Sarkozy is also rumored to have said that a baby could help secure his re-election in 2012. An insider says:

"It seems the president feels that due to his age, if he doesn't have a child now, it will be too late. He also believes that such a happy event could be a vote winner in 2012. So for both these reasons the timing would be perfect."

The French president already has 3 sons aged 12, 22 and 24 from previous marriages and Carla has a 9-year-old son.

Maybe they'll have a girl and mix it up a little bit, but it's definitely official: Carla's on bump-watch!

And he's got a book to sell!

President Obama's half brother, Mark Okoth Obama Ndesandjo, made a rare appearance in China on Wednesday to promote Nairobi to Shenzhen, a novel about an surviving an abusive father and building a new life in China.

Although he claims that it's a fictional account of his life (and father - of which he shares with the President), Ndesandjo said that it "reflects many experiences in my own life as a child brought up in Kenya."

And the First Half Brother timed it well! This book release comes exactly two weeks before President Obama visits China for the first time.

"My mother used to say of my father, he's a brilliant man but a social failure," the author said of his life. "I remember times in my house when I would hear screams and I would hear my mother's pain. My skin had turned hard emotionally for so many years because of what I'd seen my mother go through."

The book also details the marriage of the protagonist, David and his journey to China for the love of a Chinese woman and a young orphan - which mirrors his own marriage and work with orphans!

Sounds like he took the same fiction writing class as Lauren Conrad!!! It's taking "write what you know" to a whole other level!

"We're family, I love my family," said Ndesandjo, who claims to shy away from public ties to the President. "I was so proud of my brother Barack."

But it turns out, he's just another celebrity sibling looking for a piece of the pie!

"I wanted to be known as a writer, not for my relationship to the President," he continues, as a publisher is needed to release his upcoming autobiography, detailing an account of his family background and ties.

Turns out he's just a political Ali Lohan!!!

She's not just into fashion and releasing fragrances!

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker will be joining the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities in an effort to help with President Barack Obama's arts initiatives.

Also joining the committee are actor/director Forest Whitaker, Edward Norton, Alfre Woodard, cellist Yo-Yo Ma and even Vogue editor Anna Wintour!

Next Tuesday they will all be installed in to the committee by Vice President Joe Biden.

We think SJPeePee is a great choice, actually! Not only is she a television and movie actress, but she was also involved in musical theater and has always been vocal about her appreciation for ballet.

Congrats!

Oops!

Maybe his buddy President Barack Obama will help him out!

The street artist responsible for the now iconic image of our current president used in his campaign was arrested in Boston over the weekend.

Shepard Fairey was taken into custody on two outstanding warrants, both charging him for tagging property with graffiti. He was released on Saturday on a $1,500 bail, but is due in court this morning for further review.

Our thinking is, how is he suppose to apologize for something that helped make him famous?! We sure as hell wouldn't!

That's some pretty grandiose praise!

Sting firmly believes that President Barack Obama is the best man to deal with the world's problems because he's "genuine, very present, clearly super-smart, and exactly what we need in the world…because of his background, his education, particularly in regard to Islam."

The British singer is very interested in American politics and had some choice words about the conservative side and those against Obama:

"It's aggressive and violent and full of fear. They don't want change, they want things to feel the same because they feel safe there. My hope is that we can start talking about real issues and not caring about whether God cares about your hemline or your color. We are here to evolve as one family, and we can't be separate anymore."

Smart man, that Sting!

Oh, boo hoo!

Rapper 50 Cent revealed that even he has been hit by the recession losing "a few million" from his fortune. He's also had to change some of his spending habits, mainly his penchant for jewelry.

"I buy diamonds on a very regular basis, but now I am selling my old stuff before I get something new. These are times when you learn about the value of money.

If you don't lose money in this recession, it means you didn't have enough to start off with. Sure, I lost a few million, but that's because I have so much. This is a time that will sort out the strong from the weak."

In fact, 50 is so confident in his money-handling abilities he confidently states:

"Any businessman who wants a piece of the future should learn from me. Obama is great. If he wants me as his financial adviser that would be cool."

We seriously doubt the President would have the same reaction.

If someone could just forward this along to Amber Tamblyn so she knows what she's gotten herself into, that would be super.

Arrested Development star David Cross decided to be rather candid about his frequent drug use in a recent interview.

Tamblyn's boyfriend admits to having done something rather stupid, if you ask us. Although, for a coke-fiend, we bet it's a badge of honor.

Cross told a reporter that on a dare (because we're all still in 2nd grade), he snorted a line of coke at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, though it wasn't held at the White House but several officials were still present.

Classy, huh? Oh, and guess who was hanging out a few tables down - President Barack Obama!

David said, “It’s crazy and there’s security, Secret Service is standing there. I’ve got photos of all this. … I’m there and the president is right here and with all these people at the table. Maybe 40 feet from the president of the United States!”

So not only did you snort coke next to the Prez, but you have photos of it?

Well, let's see'em!

If you're dumb enough to take photographic evidence, you might as well finish the job and send them out for the world to see.

This is fantastic news!

The Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill was cleared in the Senate today officially making it through the last obstacle in Congress and making a huge stride in the way of LGBT equality!

President Barack Obama has promised to sign it later this month.

YES!

Human rights are for EVERYBODY!

We're making amazing progress slowly but surely and we need to keep it up! Nothing that's worthwhile comes easy!
