After a quarter of a century, Oprah Winfrey will be leaving you stay-at-home moms to your own devices as she is ending her daytime reign in September of 2011.

Many of her close friends and colleagues took a moment to respond to the news and, as you would imagine, they all have nothing but the best to say.

Her life partner in crime, Gayle King, assured the press that the decision to leave her daytime days behind was hers and hers alone. Furthermore, she has no doubt that Oprah will find a way to fill the void left behind:

" I think that Oprah always makes the best decision for herself. I really do. And I have a feeling she will come up with some things to do. She has a very full life … We don't need to worry about her filling her time, I promise you that! Life is good for her."

New bestie Ellen DeGeneres made similar comments when addressing her in-studio audience last night, saying:

"Hey listen, I'm going to tell you some news you're going to hear as soon as you go out into the world, when you leave here. Right before I came out here, I got a call from Oprah and she told me that she is announcing that next year will be her last year. It will be her 25th year, and she feels like it's time for her to stop…I don't think I could be here without her. I think she has blazed a trail … She is an amazing woman…She will always be the Queen of Daytime Television."

Ah, but there is another Queen of Daytime who's doesn't think we have seen the last of O. Martha Stewart told reporters that she believes Oprah will be back, once she has had some time off:

"She'll do another show. She's evolving. She's fabulous."

We're sure she will do another show as well. Question is, will she have it air on network TV or her new cable network, OWN?

We'll have to wait and see.

Let's see if she can work the same magic on American Idol!

Oprah Winfrey's ratings were due for a big boost and boy, did she get them when Ellen DeGeneres appeared on the show yesterday!

Her fellow O covergirl nabbed an impressive 4.6/11 rating! That is the highest rating she has gotten in over a month!

Well done! Now, switch places! Let's see how well Oprah does on Ellen's show.

Extra followed their host to his appearance on Ellen, where DeGeneres convinced Lopez to get nekkid (from the waist up, of course) and take a plunge in the dunk tank!

…For charity, of course.

Ellen Pompeo and Katherine Heigl aren't the only Grey's Anatomy cast members who have babies on the brain.

T.R. Knight wants one too!

OK, so he's a former cast member, but it still counts.

While talking with Ellen DeGeneres, Tuesday, he reveals to the talk show host "I want a baby. I don't know if it's going to end up working out, but that would be something I would like."

The Grey's quitter turned Broadway actor says it's Katherine Heigl who's making him want to hear the pitter-patter of feet around the house saying "I've wanted [kids] for a while, so it reinforces it."

Katherine Heigl an "inspiration"? Seriously!?

It's probably just baby envy.

Her new gig on American Idol still has some people in a tizzy, concerned Ellen DeGeneres isn't the right fit for the show.

We tell them to shut their effing mouths! She is going to be BRILLIANT!

Ellen is obviously a lot nicer than we are, so she attempts to explain on her show today that her position as judge on this upcoming season of American Idol is an ideal fit for her, saying:

"Apparently, there's a lot of debate going on right now, whether I'm qualified or not to be the new judge on 'American Idol'… I'll tell you right now, how I know I'm going to be a great judge — because I've spent my whole life being judged. So, I know what it's like. So, I will be kind. I will be compassionate. I will be empathetic, and I will be truthful. I will be an honest judge without being mean."

She goes on further to report that she isn't listening to what the haters have to say and avoids any kind of media in which she could hear what the critics have to say. One person she isn't ignoring, however, is Paula Abdul, who spoofed the talk show host on her hosting gig at VH1 Divas. Ellen had a message to send back to Paula: "I have nothing but love for you too Paula — but I want my wig back. I really do. Give it back."
