Saturday Night Live‘s 40th Anniversary special was even more incredible than advertised!
It was so star-studded, we could barely even see the leather!

Celebrity guests, returning cast members, celebrity guests impersonating returning cast members… the show was full of instant classic moments!
Here are our favorites from #SNL40:
Celebrity Jeopardy!
Not only did Will Ferrell return as put-upon host Alex Trebek, but we also got Darrell Hammond as Sean Connery, Kate McKinnon as Justin Bieber, and Alec Baldwin as Tony Bennett!
And there were even special appearances by Norm MacDonald as Burt Reynolds, Taran Killam as Christophe Waltz, and Jim Carrey as Matthew McConaughey!
One of the most fun things was seeing former SNL cast members reprising their classic characters.
For instance, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey doing Wayne’s World again — but talking about current events, like Kanye West at the Grammys!
Every part of the Weekend Update was amazing — we especially loved the triple female anchors of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Jane Curtin — but the guests were INCREDIBLE!
Emma Stone played the classic Gilda Radner character Roseanne Roseannadanna, her Birdman costar Edward Norton played Stefon, and Melissa McCarthy broke more than character as Matt Foley!
And speaking of breaking, it was great seeing one more Digital Short from Andy Samberg — with a little help from Adam Sandler that is!
The most celeb-filled sketch was the one that took place closest to Hollywood. In fact, just a quick drive down La Brea, down the 10, and up the PCH from Hollywood.
Yup! The Californians, guest-starring Taylor Swift, Kerry Washington, Betty White, and Bradley Cooper — and with a twist ending!
